THE SEVEN VISITS NOT TO BE MISSED
LA CONCHA BAY
This wonderful promenade around the world-famous Playa de la Concha, one of the best urban beaches you will ever see, is the best known image of San Sebastian.
It is located in the city centre and is 1.5 km long, from the town hall to the Pico del Loro, along which you will find the famous La Concha railing, the typical lampposts, the clock area…
Moreover, if you want to extend this pleasant walk, you can continue around Mount Urgull and reach the end of Zurriola beach. A 6 km urban walk to enjoy the views of the city, the Cantabrian Sea and the surrounding mountains.
TOWN CENTRE OF SAN SEBASTIAN
At the foot of Mount Urgull is the town centre of the city, the liveliest and most visited area of San Sebastian.
Strolling through its cobbled pedestrian streets admiring its imposing buildings is a real pleasure for the senses and a perfect way to enjoy a day trip to San Sebastian.
This area is also the ideal place to enjoy one of the hallmarks of our region, its gastronomy, in one of its numerous pintxo bars and restaurants. The nerve centre of the town centre of the city is the Constitución Square and other buildings such as the Church of San Vicente or the Basilica of Santa María stand out.
ROMANTIC AREA
This is the name given to the expansion of the city, the result of the development of San Sebastian.
An area with elegant urban planning and with outstanding buildings and squares that are a must-see, such as the Town Hall, the GipuzkoaSquare , the Buen Pastor Cathedral, the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, the María Cristina Hotel and the charming Alderdi Eder gardens.
This area, located in the heart of La Concha Bay, is also the commercial centre of the city.
MOUNT IGELDO AND MOUNT URGULL
Located at either end of La Concha Bay, these two mountains mark the personality and the orography of the city.
On Mount Igeldo, you can visit a picturesque amusement park where you can take a 1912 funicular railway from where you can enjoy stunning views of the city.
Mount Urgull, which has witnessed the history of San Sebastian over the years, is also home to four wonderful viewpoints from where you can take the best photos of San Sebastian and the bay, while you take a relaxing stroll through nature.
PEINE DEL VIENTO
This is a group of sculptures located where the city ends and Monte Igeldo begins.
An artistic manifestation combined with the natural sorroundings to merge them and create a unique space that, especially on days with strong waves, offers visitors a spectacle of unparalleled beauty.
